Some security rules for using collaborative spaces on the Internet

  1. Students using this wikispace and other online resouces for this project must treat them as classroom spaces. Speech that is inappropriate for class is not appropriate online either. Remember that your conduct must be appropriate as of a representative of our schools.
  2. Never EVER EVER give out personal information on our wiki or ning spaces. Don’t share anything that you don’t want the world to know and get into the way of being careful about the personal information you exchange. Don’t give out your phone number or home address. Apply this rule to all your online activity.
  3. Remember that once you put something up onto the Internet, odds are really good that it will stay on the Internet. Always. Be sure that anything you write you are proud of.
  4. Never link to something you haven’t read. While it isn’t your job to police the Internet, when you link to something, you should make sure it is something that you really want to be associated with. If a link contains material that might be creepy or make some people uncomfortable, you should probably try a different source.
